Consider keeping a weight loss journal. You can make your daily entries as brief or as detailed as you like. For instance, you can simply include a list of the foods you ate at each meal and your weight for that day. When you have written everything down for a few days, it will be easy to discern eating patterns and see the areas in which you can make the smallest changes for the greatest benefit.

Eat small amounts of healthy food frequently to avoid becoming overly hungry and grabbing anything at hand. Plan your meals in advance and take them with you if you are busy. Pack your lunch based off of your plan, instead of dining out. When you make your own lunch, you can control fat and calorie content, which is often high in restaurant meals. In addition, you can also save money!

The two staples of any weight loss plan are diet and exercise. Find a few workout routines that you enjoy, and and do them three to four times a week. If you are having trouble exercising, try breaking it into smaller blocks or incorporate your exercise into the things you enjoy doing. Invite your friends out for a walk in the park as opposed to eating out with them. If you enjoy dance, why not enroll in one of the many dance classes available? If hiking is your passion, then head out in search of new trails!

Eliminate junk food from anywhere that you spend time, such as your home or office. The simple fact is you cannot eat something that is not there. Rather, take steps to make your workspace, household or anyplace you are likely to snack, a health food zone. It is good to keep healthy foods like fresh fruit, bite-size vegetables, and a package of your favorite seeds or nuts on hand for when you need to snack.

Look to your friends for help. Friends help each other out, right? When you surround yourself with friends that support you, you will be able to succeed more easily.
